Delete your OwnWorth account

The fastest way is inside the OwnWorth app. Open Account from your avatar in the app header, scroll to the bottom, and tap Delete account & data. It asks you to confirm twice, then deletes immediately - no waiting on us.

If you can't sign in, or you'd rather we did it, request deletion here and we'll handle it:

Request account deletion

Send it from the email address your account uses so we can verify it's you. If that address no longer works, write from any address and tell us the old one - we'll verify another way rather than delete the wrong account.

What gets deleted

Deleting your OwnWorth account permanently removes:

  • Your account and sign-in credentials.
  • Every item in the households you alone own - names, values, categories, and history.
  • All photos and files you uploaded, deleted from storage rather than just unlinked.
  • Receipts, documents, valuation history, and value snapshots.
  • Any marketplace or budgeting-app connections, including the stored access tokens.
  • Your third-party-AI consent record.

What happens to a shared household

If you share a household with other people, the household and its inventory belong to everyone in it, so the household survives your departure. What is removed is your membership and your account. If you were the household's only admin, the longest-standing remaining member is promoted to admin first, so nobody is locked out of their own inventory.

If you are the only member of a household, that household and everything in it is deleted outright.

How long it takes

  • In-app deletion is immediate. The data is gone when the confirmation completes.
  • Email requests are completed within 30 days of us verifying the request, and usually much sooner.
  • Encrypted backups purge on their normal rotation shortly afterwards. We do not restore a deleted account from a backup.

What we may keep, and why

We keep the minimum the law requires and nothing else. That means records of transactions we are obliged to retain for tax and accounting purposes, and any records we must preserve for a legal claim. These do not include your inventory, your photos, or your item data.

Cancel your subscription separately

Subscriptions are billed by the app store, not by us, so deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in the store first: on iPhone or iPad, Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android, the Google Play app → your profile → Payments and subscriptions.

Something short of deleting everything?

If you want to leave a shared household but keep your account, or delete particular items rather than all of them, you can do both in the app without deleting your account. And if you just want a copy of your data, ask us - see Support.
